Sewa Bharati Samiti Kota,Rajasthan

Sewa Bharati Samiti Kota  (Regn. No.102/1989-90)

Sewa Bharati, Kota - Self-respect through self-reliance
Kota unit of Sewa Bharati runs five cutting-tailoring centres. It will be relevant to mention here about two centres—Hanuman Basti and Khedali (Tejaji). Women in the groups of 15 get training at both these centres. The duration of the training is six months and it is completely free. The trained women are presented certificates in public functions. The overall objective of all these activities is that women should become self-reliant.
The centre has imparted them the training of cutting and stitching of all kinds of clothes. This is the reason most of the women who received training from these centres are now earning handsome money by stitching clothes from the market. It not only developed the feeling of self-reliant among them but they are also able to run their family better.
The major benefit of running the centre is that a large number of women have come together at the project. Now some Self-Help Groups have also been started. Apart from the cutting-tailoring centre, Bhajan Mandalis have also been started. Night literacy classes are also conducted.
These projects are run in two separate
rooms where apart from cutting-tailoring
centre, Bal Samskar Kendra, women literacy
camp, SHG, Bhajan Mandali are also run.

Since the women coming to the centre share their meals and tea etc. with each other, it reduced the feeling of caste and community. It definitely strengthened the feeling of social harmony. During the six months training the women are also taken for picnic.

Both these projects are run in two separate rooms where apart from cutting tailoring centre, Bal Samskar Kendra, women literacy camp, SHG, Bhaj an Mandali are also run.

More than 250 women have received training from these centres. Smt Karuna Sharma is the incharge of the centres. Other centres are run in Pratapnagar, Deendayal Nagar, Tanaji Nagar etc. There is a planning to start ten more projects this year.

There are many Bhajan Mandalis which are associated with the Sewa Bharati in Kota. A competition is also conducted among them. It is an effort to strengthen the social harmony and also to increase women participation. Apart from it Bharat Mata Pujan for patriotic spirit, Kanyapujan for social harmony, health camp, personality development camp, cultural knowledge test, etc are also conducted.
